Another icon tutorial.. again made in PSPX but should be easy enough to use in other programs.
Kay, so this is how to get this look

The picture I used is here
1) Crop to 100x100
2) New Layer >> Flood Fill #808080 >> Burn
3) New Layer >> Flood Fill #1d0a64 >> Exclusion
4) Duplicate base (your picture) and bring it to the top.
5) Set it on soft light.
6) And you're done! I just added the border and text to add a bit more to it. But it looks good plain too!
